The Provincial Government of Eastern Samar held a significant Executive Committee (EXECOM) meeting on July 12 at the PGO Conference Hall, attended by Chiefs of Hospitals and department heads. Also present at the meeting were Governor Ben P. Evardone, Vice-Governor Maricar Sison-Goteesan, and other legislative officials.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to address critical updates and ongoing challenges within the province’s healthcare system. Discussions centered around the current status of PhilHealth claims, focusing on the percentage of Return to Hospital (RTH) cases and denied claims. The meeting provided a platform for hospital chiefs to share issues related to patient paperwork requirements, aiming to streamline the process and reduce bureaucratic hurdles.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the E-Konsulta profiling status, an initiative aimed at improving patient consultations and healthcare accessibility through digital means. Each hospital presented updates on their progress, particularly regarding the initial patient encounters set to begin in August.
Governor Evardone expressed satisfaction with the advancements, stating, “I’m happy to know that our E-Konsulta is improving.”
The meeting also included a thorough discussion on various issues faced by the hospitals, emphasizing the need for immediate solutions to enhance patient care. The provincial leadership and hospital chiefs collectively sought to address these challenges, ensuring that patient concerns are prioritised and resolved swiftly.
This EXECOM meeting marks a proactive step by the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar in its commitment to improving healthcare services and addressing administrative challenges.
