BORONGAN CITY (PGO Media) – The Provincial Government of Eastern Samar has hired more than one thousand teacher-facilitators as part of its support to the learning continuity program amidst the COVID-19 pandemic of the Division of Eastern Samar and the City Division of Borongan.
Hired as job order employees, these teacher-facilitators will serve as augmentation force to the teaching staff of both the school divisions of Eastern Samar and Borongan City.
They will be deployed in each elementary and secondary schools in every barangay in the province to serve as tutors to pupils and students and will likewise assist in the distribution of modules.
Each teacher-facilitators will receive a daily wage of Php 300.00 and will be required to work for three days each week. They will work for three months which will commence this October and will terminate on December.
Based on the agreement entered into between the provincial government and the two schools divisions, the three-month stint of the teacher-facilitators will earn them teaching experience credits which is needed in their application for regular teaching employment.
Orientations were simultaneously held Thursday, October 8, in all school districts in the province whereby teacher-facilitators were informed about their roles and functions.
Regional DepEd officials lauded the support given by Gov. Ben P. Evardone to the education sector of the province. DepEd Regional Director Ramir Uytico said that in the entire eastern Visayas region, it is only the province of Eastern Samar which was able to hire massive teacher-facilitators as support to the local education sector.
