Together with more than a thousand of Learning Support Aides (Provincial Paid Teachers), Gov. Ben Evardone officially welcome Vice President and Education Secretary Sarah Z. Duterte-Carpio as the special guest during the launching of the Provincial Brigada Pagbasa Summit in Borongan City.
The summit showcased some of the best practises of the LGUs in promoting reading literacy among pupils. BM RV Evardone and SB Sofia Zacate were among the presentors of the different initiaves in the LGU level. Both young legislators are current reading ambassadors of DepEd Eastern Samar.
The provincial government and DepEd Eastern Samar entered into a partnership to address the low level of literacy and numeracy of pupils in the province.
The provincial government hired more than 1000 teachers across the province to help teachers in the primary grade in teaching pupils beginning reading.
SDS Bernardino Adina, Congw. Maria Fe Abunda and Vice Gov. Maricar Sison-Goteesan were also present during the launching.
