I haven’t traveled abroad yet but soon I will but let me introduce you to this particular place. The place in the picture is called Tikling, I really don’t know how this place comes to that name but the world Tikling in a dictionary is a specie of bird but for us Leyteño it means walking with one leg while the other hangs. I don’t know really if it’s correct but it is how I understands it,anyway let’s go back to this hidden paradise. As I set foot to this island I instantlyfell in love not only because of it’s beautiful and majestic view while facing the Pacific Ocean but because of everything in there that is to see. The people are so warm and welcoming, no concrete houses no paved roads, and most of all no vehicle. Oh How love being away from the city, it was like going into an era where I time traveled to an old world. Plus the sun is very warm. The villagers say that their island has a great affect in our health, it rejuvenates you, take off the stress from body and heal you from what ever illness you might have well,I should say it’s quite true because of it’s clean and fresh environment.

You will ask how we get there of course, whew it is a one of a ride but it’s all worth it. Arriving to Tacloban City from Manila, it’s a five hours travel through van to Dolores, Eastern Samar and from Dolores we rent a boat as you can see another one hour travel to this island and the sea is quite rough I nearly fainted because I didn’t know how to swim but as soon as I step foot on this fine white sand, I swear it’s really beautiful. The water is sooo clear, the wind is sooo clean and the fishes that we eat is still fresh from the catch.

My husband and I are really grateful to this people. I am always praying and hoping that for the next generation it will be preserved and protected because sadly some of the inhabitant throw garbage sometime to the sea. It makes me sad which I can’t blame them, they were not properly oriented by the government of what might it caused if they continue doing it.

Hope we could go back to this place someday stay there for a few days but the problem is accommodation. the island doesn’t have lodging houses even just transient rooms so we have to rely with the hospitality of the people who will offer us room for a night 🙂 hopefully but I know they will, it’s only a matter of negotiations.

This Photo is taken in Tikling Dolores, Eastern samar a small but beautiful island with hospitable people, super fresh and clean environment. For me it is a paradise that is hidden from the exploits of industrialist people. Help us preserve this beautiful island
